The GEMS 2025 application is now open. Please go to the How to Apply tab to submit the application.

Please read the directions at the beginning of the application before filling it out. Some key points- GEMS is for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students. You must (no exceptions), live and attend school within 60 miles of Penns campus to participate. Applicants outside of that 60 mile radius will not be considered. Please submit the GEMS camp waiver directly into the GEMS application where it is noted with the campers report card. Please have your chosen teacher recommender email the teacher recommendation directly to penngems@seas.upenn.edu. Applications are complete once we have the application form (including report card and waiver), and teacher recommendation. As a reminder, if you have participated in GEMS in the past, you will not be considered, as campers can only participate one time. As a final note- please have your camper fill out the application, as we are interested in hearing directly from them regarding why they would like to do GEMS.

The deadline to submit an application for Penn GEMS is Monday March 3rd. Applications after this date will not be considered.
